Members and Co-workers,
This is my last month in office as your Sr. Regent. I wanted to thank all my chair people, officers, appointed officers and Dixie for all their hard work they have done this past year. I also want to thank the bar tenders for doing such a great job in checking our membership cards, for having a smile on their faces and being pleasant. It means a lot to our lodge.
I want to thank the Loom for all their help. I would also like to thank our Chef, Dave (Fine Job) keep up the good food. I also wish to thank all the members for helping at our Fish Fry’s on Fridays, Lightning games, painting our lodge, fixing our lodge up and decorating our lodge. And to those who have baked cakes, cookies, etc. Thanks to all who have contributed in making our Lodge what it is today.

We are still short for our quota for the year so lets keep talking to friends and family what great work we do supporting the children and seniors. New members - if you would like to be a sponsor and you’re not sure how to be a sponsor, talk to any board of officer and they will be glad to show you how.
We will be looking for Officers and Chairman for next year. If you would be interested in taking an Office or be a Chairman just drop a note in the WOTM mail box. We know you are out there somewhere with new ideas on fund raisers, sponsorship ideas, and ways to make the meetings more interesting to get our members to attend. We need to build up the Chapter so any ideas you have would be of a great help.
The last quarter we have donated to the Woodstock Food Pantry, Woodstock Christmas Clearing House, Safe Surf’n (Internet Safety), Youth Awareness, Special Olympics and the Loyal Order of Moose 1329. This is why we need your help to keep the Chapter active.

Another year has past and guess what? We are still the best yet! As Senior Regent, I’d like to thank all my Chairmen, Officers, Appointed Officers and Co-workers for helping make this year run smoothly and also for helping in the various activities at the lodge. The time to help is not over. We need you to help keep our membership going. We are far from close to our new/reinstated member goal and have little time to reach this goal. The year is almost over for 2009-2010 and our membership is down. Please, can you find people to join our very active club. We do a lot for different organizations as well as keeping our children at Mooseheart and Seniors at Mooseheaven, without our help they wouldn’t be there.
I wish to thank all who have helped with WOTM and LOOM Fish Fry dinners, Monday dinners as well as breakfasts. Also to my September & October chair people, they did a great job. Don’t forget to bring in coats, blankets, games, toys and books for our up coming events in November and December.

Thank you Geraldine Selep, Sr. Regent
We will be having a guest speaker on October 13th from the Woodstock Christmas Clearing House. We would like to invite all Woodstock Members to join us at 7:00pm. We will present her with a donation and would like to give her a large amount of hats, gloves and new toys and we need your help to do that. The chapter is asking for you to donate items before October 11th so we can fill boxes for that evening. I’m sure there will be a lot more families out there who need help due to the unemployment rate and we as a whole can make a difference in our community.
Our local food pantry is hurting. We collect non-perishable items every Wednesday at bingo and they are delivered on Friday. The shelves are empty. I know we can help! Go through your cupboards or when you’re at the store pick up a few items to donate. You can stop by and deliver them yourself (226 Washington St.) or drop them off at the lodge and we will make sure to get items delivered. We have two events planned to help, Community Hero's Awards and The Cabin Fever Sale where proceeds will be donated. We do ask you to check the expiration date as we cannot give expired items. If you do not live in the Woodstock Area Please check with your local food pantry as I’m sure all Pantry’s are in the same need.
A new facility to assist our Senior members who suffer from the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia is being funded by the W.O.T.M. Moose International is asking for all Chapters to send $6.50 per member to help build this facility. We would like your help in doing our Chapters share. If you would send $6.50 to Women of the Moose Chapter 364 P.O. Box 171 Woodstock Il. 60098. We know not all of you can do this and if you are able to send $13.00 or more to help members who cannot it would be greatly appreciated. We know that we keep asking for things but that is what the Moose is about, helping Mooseheart and Moosehaven and the local communities. We did not earn the Shining Star this year by sitting by and doing nothing but it takes every member to work together to keep us going.

Attention! WOTM members, Old and New, because of the high volume that last month of membership for the year ending was so large, and because of space in the newsletter, we just thanked everyone at one time, instead of naming everyone separately.
Come to our meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday, show us your membership card proudly and we’ll announce your name.
At the meeting is where you get your lodge membership pin and are welcomed. Our first meeting of the month (is Sweet), the second meeting of the month (is Pot Luck).
Hope to see all who have joined. Come and take part in our meetings and have a say in what we do to raise money for our Children & Seniors at Mooseheart and Moosehaven! We are always open for new ideas and suggestions. Please come and join us at meetings.
Chairmen and appointed officers, I thank you for all that you contribute to our lodge by doing what you do in taking part at meetings and being there voicing your opinions. We need more people like you. I also want to thank my new chairmen who were enrolled this past month. You’re helping the chapter and myself reach our year end goals. If you bring in 2 people by the years end, you’ll be able to receive your Academy of Friendship award. It’s a ring for the chain on your membership pin. I received mine 2 years ago and it’s a grand achievement. One step up the ladder to getting my cap and gown. So please work hard in bringing in 2 members (or more) each if you and they can bring in 2 members (or more) this is how our lodge grows. Remember, it’s for the Children and Seniors at Mooseheart and Moosehaven that we do all this for. Thanks to my officers for their help as well.
Geri Selep,Senior Regent.

To my Chair People for May and June: Sue Lock, installed in May and Margaret Nash and Cheryl Schwatz installed in June – thank you. What a great job you’ve done (thanks Margaret for the carrot cake). I hope all of you continue to give a helping hand through the rest of the year.
To Joann Lynn, thank you for taking the Appointed Chair of Meeting Coordinator.
We’re looking for more women to come to our meetings to see how we can make a difference in our lodge. I’m also looking for a few more ladies to take part in helping with the chairs to be covered.
Thank you to Joyce Hahn for giving a talk on the hearts, what they stand for and how we can earn them. She was great.
If anyone knows someone to give a talk at one of our meetings, lease contact me 815-943-0763.
As we are a piece of the Solution, we need to join in and help get members, help in our lodge once in a while, and think of our children and seniors. This is what we, as WOTM, are all about.
Senior Regent, Geri SelepAs the new Senior Regent, I’m thanking all who took an office, chair, or part in my installation. I’m hoping we, as WOTM, to grow like we did in 2008-2009.
Ladies, New Members, please bring in 2 people and let those 2 people bring in 2 people and so on. Let’s make the WOTM membership for 2009-2010 bigger than last year. Help is always needed in some sort of another, ask your sponsor what you can do!
Woodstock Moose Family Center has made me very comfortable and they treat me like family. (We are all Family here). Since I transferred her I’ve tried to take part in all kinds of activities, came to lightning, but most of all, came to the meetings.
Every 2nd Tuesday and 4th Tuesday of the month we have meetings – Watch the Moose Call for information regarding meetings and we have lots of activities going on and they are fun, so as a new member to those that just joined, let’s see you, I’d like to meet you.
Senior Regent, Geri Selep
