I am sending this email out to the LOOM members of the Woodstock Moose Lodge. I am sending this out because I want to let you know of an opportunity you have at your lodge. Its an opportunity to make your lodge membership more valuable not only to you, but your family and the many other LOOM members and their families. Its an opportunity that none of us should take lightly, because whether or not you are aware of it, you are the lifeblood of our lodge. Without you, our children at Mooseheart and seniors at Moosehaven would be left in need. So that is why I take this time to write this email to you, to let you know about this special opportunity, and request your help in making our lodge the friendliest place in town.
This Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 at 7:00PM we will be holding one of two monthly floor meetings. As of the night you were enrolled, every member of this fraternity has a vote-and it counts! You have a say, and its your time to ask questions, make suggestions, and learn more about the benefits of your membership. When you attend a floor meeting, you may be voting on the acceptance of new members, a lodge expenditure, or election of officers. You will have the opportunity to offer opinions on such things as lodge renovations, events, activities, and a host of other things. By attending these floor meetings you will learn more about what’s happening from your Lodge committees. By getting a little involved we will slowly work toward having more events and activities that you would like to see, and increase the communication between you and your lodge. You will also get to meet your lodge board if you haven't met them yet, meet other members who may have some of the same interests as yourself, and find out what you can do to make your lodge the friendliest place in town. The Lodge is only as good as its members. If we choose to become involved in making things better, they will be better. Basically it’s up to all of us to make the effort. Plus it’s our mission as a fraternity to do so, so our children at Mooseheart and seniors at Moosehaven will always have the support that they need.
So if you can, make a point of stopping down on Thursday. If you can't make it, please try and plan a night to attend one of the two floor meetings we hold each month. We have posted an agenda outside the door of the main dining hall, and we will do our best to post an agenda for all future meetings as well. I have attached a copy of that agenda to this email for your convenience. I have also listed the dates of our floor meetings that will take place this month. But whether or not you can attend this Thursday, please try and attend in the near future, and attend often. Its your lodge and we need your thoughts and ideas. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Randy Tipps
