On February 8th, 2010 Boy Scouts of America will celebrate its 100th Year Anniversary of Scouting. As many of you are aware our lodge sponsors two Scouting groups. We sponsor Boy Scout Troop #329 and Cub Scout Pack #367. We have a number of outstanding people donating their time and efforts volunteering in these programs. Providing programs for boys of not only our membership, but of our local community. If there are any families out there who may have a son, or know a boy interesting in joining scouting, please don’t hesitate in contacting me. I will get you in touch with the proper people for each of our programs. We also are always looking for adult leaders who may be interested in giving of their time and efforts to volunteer in these programs as well. Either working directly with the boys, or to serve on a committee. Again don’t hesitate to call me. We can all be proud of these two groups and those involved working with these boys. Scouting is truly an outstanding, worthwhile program.

Two members of Boy Scout Troop 329 recently celebrated their Eagle Court of honors, in which they received the highest rank awarded in Boy Scouts. The Eagle Scout Award. Not every boy who joins Scouting will earn their Eagle Scout Award. Its something only 4% of all boys entering Scouting will ever a achieve. Its a great accomplishment. With the addition of Nathan Hughey and Nathan Willcokson to the Eagle ranks, Boy Scout Troop 329 now has 30 Eagle Scouts! Congratulations to Nathan Hughey and Nathan Willcokson!
The Woodstock Moose currently Charter sponsors Boy Scout Troop 329 and Cub Pack 367. If anyone has an interest in helping out these groups as a Scout leader, or you have a child who is interesting in becoming involved in the Scouting program, please contact me and I will give you all the information you need to become part of the Scouting program.
